Samantha Renee Ratcliffe is a poet, educator, and recent graduate of the University of Kentucky's MFA. Originally from Eastern Kentucky, her work centers the complexities of rurality and queerness. Alongside her writing, Ratcliffe has spent nearly two decades performing as the folk musician Fields May. She is the founder of the Hill Writers Collective, a free community workshop and reading series committed to amplifying regional and marginalized voices.
